Sturdy French lighthouses

For centuries, lighthouses were used to mark hazardous coastlines. Some magnificent lighthouses can be found in France. Some of these ornate structures are built on small rocky outcroppings. So, they are actually out in the sea. It's hard to imagine the dangers of building such a structure. Especially when you see the weather they have to endure. These lighthouses are bashed by incredible waves. The water completely engulfs the building. Even more unbelievable, those lighthouses have people in them!
