A blind hiker’s journey
The Appalachian Trail stretches from Georgia to Maine. From end to end, it’s an amazing 2,178 miles long. Only the world’s best hikers tackle the entire thing. Mike Hanson will soon be one of them. But he has one trait that separates him from other hikers. Hanson is completely blind. He plans to set out on the trail this month. And he’ll end his journey eight months later. He’ll use his cane and a specialized GPS device to navigate. Learn about how he prepared for the journey in this video.
